| Michael L. Dimitroff |
Michael L. Dimitroff, Ph.D. is a
clinical psychologist and health service provider originally from
the Chicago land area. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University
and Master and Bachelor Degrees from Indiana University. He brings
over 30 years of clinical experience to Complete Counseling as well
as having been a University Professor of Psychology for 25 years.
Dr. Dimitroff has a broad range of skills that includes providing
individual psychotherapy, marriage or couples counseling, school
consultation and psychological assessment for children, adolescents,
and adults. He also works with problems related to military service
such as PTSD. In the past he has performed many forensic evaluations
for personal injury and criminal cases. While maintaining his
hospital and office based private practice, he has treated a broad
number of psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression,
other mood disorders, ADHD, pain disorders including TMJ, stroke and
TBI, chronic medical conditions, issues related to aging, as well as
personality disorders.
He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Medical Psychologists as
well as a Fellow American College of Forensic Examiners. During his
Chicago days he was Chair, Clinical Section, of the Illinois
Psychological Association. He also was Director of Psychology in the
Department of Neurosciences at Columbus Hospital.
Dr. Dimitroff has been on medical mission trips to West and East
Africa as well as leading one to the San Blas Islands in Panama to
help the Kuna Indians through Fuel International and New Tribes
Missions. While residing locally he has served on the Union County
Chamber of Commerce, the Union County Leadership Council, and the
Union County Foster Care Review Board. He serves his state as an
officer in the Tennessee State Guard.
He has written many articles on a wide variety of psychological
topics, authored two chapters in the Carlson-Sperry Couples Series,
and has made many television and radio appearances in the Chicago
land area.
Dr. Dimitroff provides treatment utilizing a Christian values
approach. As he says, he is not a psychologist who happens to be
Christian, but is a psychologist who utilizes Biblical principles
and values to heal the inner parts of our hurt and damaged selves so
that we can deal with the many traumas experienced during life. Dr.
Dimitroff loves to see people grow and transform into the most
resilient personality possible. Strengthening the personality
structure will ward off the stresses of life for a better adjustment
to all the various issues that come our way.
